How Can You Join?
Individual* and group memberships are welcome. To become a member email us vaftr@jetbroadband.com or visit our site on Facebook:
Requirements:
This opportunity is only open to groups that are secular in nature. By associating with VFR in this project to unite secular
groups across the Commonwealth of Virginia, your group will provide VFR with contact information. All participation beyond
this is optional. We will contact you to ask for submissions to our online newsletter and calendar of events; both accessible
through this site. When planning our annual mini-conference, we may ask if you can assist us in booking rooms in your area
or other tasks related to event planning.
VFR is maintained by a volunteer staff. Due to time considerations, we will only add associate groups at our discretion.
If you've stumbled upon this page and would like to be included next time we are adding groups, please send us your group
name, location, and preferred means of contact.
Benefits:
I. Networking
Advanced visibility of your group and knowledge of other groups in Virginia. This site contains general information for
all participating groups in the state. As an associate, we will link to your independent page. Also, you can use this site
to locate nearby groups. You could potentially use this central location of general information to share ideas and resources
with nearby groups.
II. Publication of your events:
The calendar of events can include any events your group has planned. Having a central source for this information enables
members of other individual groups to be aware of and possibly plan a trip to your event! We anticipate publishing an online
newsletter quarterly with your submissions.
III. Annual mini-conferences:
We intend to hold an (minimally annual) event in alternating locations throughout the state. This event would consist
of one or more guest speakers followed by a social gathering. Through this coalition, we all have the potential to bring desirable
speakers and larger events to Virginia than any group could individually. While events would be open to the public, members
of groups formally associated with this project will have a guaranteed number of available seats and first priority for any
remaining after initial allocations.
